This, bizarrely, is a place that is not a place. Or rather a place that is not as it seems, and it is for that reason that I’ve put it here. It is of course a tube station in London… Sloane Square in fact. It was however once the course of the River Tyburn, which had to be brought under control what with the electrics, big platform, trains and all. So now the river flows through the station but not as you would imagine. That’s it above… in that thick black steel tube that crosses over the track. Imagine the place as it once was… all green and lush, with kingfishers and damp dawns, trickly and clean down towards the Thames.
