Urban yes, but it still all centres around the themes I am most interested in which is the natural world we live in. Here it hardly looks natural , but if you look closer you see that the place has just grown. There is no dominant force... just a great cohesive feeling of spirited independence. Some of the graffiti was written the night before I took the picture. How cool is that. What birds live in that tree on the right? Who lives in that room with the light on? What cars were going past? That dark building behind is an ominous thing. I know that 4 people died in there over the last year so it's not a picture of pure delight. But it is a picture of real urban visual delight. Like the picture of Stoke on the Medway, it's not a place that has been decided upon by anyone... it has just grown, it is very alive and very real and to stand it front of it, to witness it, was a great thing.
